The mobile coffee shop needed a brand to represent more than good coffee.

Designing the icon.

Refuge exists to provide employment and job-training opportunities to resettled refugees, create a unique gathering place in Clarkston, and tell a more beautiful refugee story to Atlanta. The capital “R” tilted at 45 degrees locked up with the forward-facing arrow help to signify this forward motion that Refuge will create.

Curating a flexible color palette.

We wanted to provide Refuge with a rich, diverse color palette, so we expanded the options past the primary red and brown.

Crafting a custom pattern.

Drawing from traditional African pattern inspiration, we used the new icon to create a memorable, seamless pattern.

If you’ve visited the Refuge Garage in Clarkston, you may have noticed the pattern on the coffee trucks we designed.


 

The Refuge Coffee Co. brand is constantly growing and in need of strong printed media. We’ve had the privilege to partner with them to design for a number of projects. Since her founding, the company has served weddings, countless events, and the growing movie industry in Atlanta. In 2021, the Refuge fleet will increase past the 2 original coffee trucks to include 2 additional mobile coffee trailers and 2 barista carts.
