Is It Time For a Rebrand?

It’s the first thing everyone sees. It’s how people distinguish your business from everyone else. It’s what makes the business what it is.

Obviously, we’re talking about your branding!

When you first created your business, you understood the importance of branding and having an identifiable logo. You worked hard to create your business and stay consistent, but it might be time for a change. Every company does it, and every company needs it. Do a quick internet search and you’ll find that every brand you know and love (Google, Coca-Cola, Instagram, Pandora) has evolved throughout the years.

Is it time for your business to go through a rebrand? Here are a few signs to look out for.

Your company has changed courses

Take me for example! When I first started out in 2014, I did lettering and graphic design. I have since realized that my passion is in branding and brand support for small businesses. Fleecher Designs evolved into Fleecher Studio, and with this new outlook on my business, a rebrand was in order. Our new branding is more professional, welcoming, and structured.

Sometimes your business will change courses from your initial idea. So, shouldn’t that mean your branding should change as well?

Your company has grown

When first starting out, most people can’t afford a branding package so they head to their computer to create their own logo and branding elements. There is nothing wrong with this. In fact, I commend small businesses owners who do this because it shows how much you believe in this new endeavor of yours.

However, it’s been a few years, your business has grown, and now its time to invest in branding that is consistent, up-to-date, and can set you apart from other businesses.

Your branding isn’t up to date

Just look at the companies that I mentioned above as examples. In the 70s and 80s, bold and extravagant logos that used cursive fonts and bright colors were all the rage. Fast forward to the 90s and 2000s, 3D elements took over the graphic community. Now, companies want simple and easily recognizable. When you look at a company such as Google or Coca-Cola, their brand has stayed consistent throughout the ever-changing trends over the last 40+ years. Yet, their branding and design has successfully evolved with the times.
